Conversion of Juliet/Surge Resources
Dear Members;
Member Update: Conversion of Juliet/Surge Resources
Following the initial conversions of resources in September (memo found HERE), the Ambulance Paramedics of BC have been working with the Government and BCEHS. We are proud to announce a joint agreement where BCEHS will post 152 net new full-time positions across BC. The positions will be a mix of PCP Emergency Resources (60) and EMR Inter-Facility Transfer Resources (92) and are outlined in detail HERE. They are the full-time implementation of the temporary Juliet/Surge resources that were put in place in 2020. The 60 PCP and 92 EMR positions will be posted in conjunction with the PCP positions in round 2 of the Provincial posting set for this week.
This work could not have been done without the support of your union executive, the public, our members, BCEHS senior leadership, and the BC Government, especially the Health Minister and the Premier.
We recognize that much more work needs to be done, including securing a collective agreement; however, this is yet another positive step forward for paramedic services in BC.
In solidarity,
Troy Clifford
