As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the ability of our front-line staff to cope effectively with high stress situations and reduce their risk of psychological injury, BC Emergency Health Services and the Ambulance Paramedics of BC are jointly participating in a research project that involves a brief survey of our paramedics and call centre CUPE staff.

This survey is a key part of better understanding the unique resilience needs of our paramedics and dispatchers who work in different settings, as well as those of our call centre staff. The goal is to create an understanding of positive resilience strategies and use that understanding to help develop training that is designed specifically for our staff.

The survey and research is independently conducted by Vancouver Psych Health + Safety Inc. and UBC psychologists, and is confidential and anonymous. It will take about 15-20 minutes and can be completed on your computer or smartphone. For more information about the survey please see the attached backgrounder.

The survey will be emailed directly to your BCEHS email address. The survey will be active from February 19 and be open for input for about two weeks.  We need about 40% of the staff to respond for statistically significant numbers.
