Paramedic Services Week
This week we celebrate Paramedic Services Week (May 27- June 2)
As we pause to celebrate our many accomplishments in our profession, we need to remember that none of those would have happened without you, paramedics doing amazing work, day after day.
It is also important that we remember our history and roots, as seen by the recent celebration of life for Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps WW II veteran, Emrson Bardon. It is important that we recognize the ultimate sacrifice that thirty-eight (38) Canadian Paramedics have made in the line of duty, ten (10) of which are our own brothers and sisters.
We balance this sadness with the joy that comes with the everyday successes of doing the very best we can for our patients and profession, whether that’s the recent Team Canada (BC) gold medal win at the 2018 Rallye Rejvíz Paramedic Competition in the Czech Republic, or simply providing comfort to a patient being transported to a hospital in a remote community of this province
Please make sure to take a moment this week to remember why you joined this noble profession and all the lives you have or will make a difference in during your career.
Have a great week, stay safe and take care of each other.
On behalf of the Provincial Executive Board, thank you for everything you do.
Sincerely,
Cameron Eby, President
