Helicopter ambulance service reaches a one-year milestone.

PRINCE GEORGE – It has been just over a year since the helicopter ambulance made Prince George home. During that time, the flight crews have responded to 137 medical emergencies.

In addition to patient transfers from area facilities to the Prince George hospital, the air ambulance helicopter responded directly to 43 patient event scenes.

For the past year, the helicopter and medical crew have also been ready to respond quickly to some of the smaller communities that surround Prince George.

During its time in Prince George, the team responded quickly to vehicle collisions in remote locations.

The air ambulance has landed on highways, fields and some extremely remote helicopter landing pads. On average, the helicopter team responds to 11 calls a month.
