BC’s Toxic Drug Crisis

Paramedics are on the frontline of this terrible crisis, with no end in sight.

The Ambulance Paramedics of BC and its members have been on the frontlines of the toxic drug crisis long before it was declared a public health emergency.  Call takers, dispatchers and paramedics have seen the real tolls that these overdose deaths have had not just on patients and families, but on the communities we live and serve in.  APBC stands with the families and loved ones that have lost people to this crisis, and we continue to advocate for more resources, better deployment models, and continuing mental health supports for our members that see these deaths day in and day out.
