May 2018 Member Newsletter

On April 11th, Honourable Harry Bains, Minister of Labour (pictured below with Hon. Judy Darcy, Minister of Mental Health and Addiction, and APBC Executive and members) announced new legislation that included presumptive clauses for occupational stress injuries.  While we are grateful for the relief this provides our paramedics, we were disappointed that our dispatchers and call-takers were not included in the legislation. We have been hard at work advocating for the inclusion of ALL of our members.  The Executive has continued to lobby government and address the media and are prepared to maintain pressure on all stakeholders until our dispatchers and call-takers receive the same recognition as our paramedics.
